چکیده

We study repeated games with imperfect public monitoring and unequal discounting. We characterize the limit set of perfect and public equilibrium payoffs as discount factors converge to 1 with the relative patience between players fixed. We show that the pairwise and individual full rank conditions are suffi cient for the folk theorem. ∗[email protected] †The author is thankful to Stephen Morris and Satoru Takahashi for their helpful guidance. A folk theorem for stochastic games with infrequent state changes

Dutta (1995) studies dynamic stochastic games with finite states, and proves a folk theorem that holds as players become very patient (so that players discount vanishingly little both the time until the next period and the expected time until the next state transition). Fudenberg and Yamamoto (2011) and Hörner, Sugaya, Takahashi, and Vieille (2011) extend that analysis to the case of imperfect ...

Continuous-time stochastic games

We study continuous-time stochastic games (with finitely many states and actions), with a focus on the existence of their equilibria that are insensitive to a small imprecision in the specification of players’ evaluations of streams of payoffs. We show that the stationary, namely, time-independent, discounting game has a stationary equilibrium, that the (not necessarily stationary) discounting ...

Repeated games with incomplete information and discounting

We analyze discounted repeated games with incomplete information, such that the players’ payoffs depend only on their own type (known-own payoff case). We describe an algorithm for finding all equilibrium payoffs in games for which there exists an open set of belief-free equilibria of Hörner and Lovo (2009). This includes generic games with one-sided incomplete information and a large and impor...

A TRANSITION FROM TWO-PERSON ZERO-SUM GAMES TO COOPERATIVE GAMES WITH FUZZY PAYOFFS

In this paper, we deal with games with fuzzy payoffs. We proved that players who are playing a zero-sum game with fuzzy payoffs against Nature are able to increase their joint payoff, and hence their individual payoffs by cooperating. It is shown that, a cooperative game with the fuzzy characteristic function can be constructed via the optimal game values of the zero-sum games with fuzzy payoff...

On the feasible payoff set of two-player repeated games with unequal discounting

We provide a novel characterization of the feasible payo¤ set of a general two-player repeated game with unequal discounting. In particular, we show that generically the Pareto frontier shifts outwards and the feasible payo¤ set expands in the sense of set inclusion, as the time horizon increases. This result reinforces and re…nes the insight in Lehrer and Pauzner (1999) by showing that a longe...
